The Spen Valley District Scout Council operates under the auspices of the District Executive Council.  The Executive is a body made up of both elected and nominated members, who may be either Lay Members or Scout Members, and their role is in the Fiscal and physical Managment of the assets of the District.  They are the Trustees of the Local Association and are guided by the rules of the Scout Association and those of the Charity Commissioners.

The Executive is Chaired by a member nominated by the encumbent District Commissioner.
