Serving young people in the Spen Valley District of West Yorkshire, the District Scout Council has 10 Scout Groups in the area covering the communities of Cleckheaton, Gomersal, Scholes, Hightown, Liversedge, Birkenshaw and Hunsworth.

UK Scout Association Official YouTube Channel Having just celebrated the 100th anniversary of the movement, Scouting in the area is thriving and youngsters are enjoying access to a wide variety of adventurous activities in a safe environment. In addition the District also has its own Activity Centre and Campsite situated at Fanwood, Ferrand Lane, Gomersal, with a resident Warden on site (For further info please see the pages on this site.). Spen Valley are indebted to the support of The Big Lottery Fund  for the Low Ropes Course and  Bouldering Wall Also to Kirklees Young Peoples Service for their support of the Indoor Caving Centre, the Facade, materials for the Shelters and Dustbin holders.
