Serving young people in the Spen Valley District of West Yorkshire, the District Scout Council has 10 Scout Groups in the area covering the communities of Cleckheaton, Gomersal, Scholes, Hightown, Liversedge, Birkenshaw and Hunsworth.

Having just celebrated the 100th anniversary of the movement, Scouting in the area is thriving and youngsters are enjoying access to a wide variety of adventurous activities in a safe environment.

In addition the District also has its own Activity Centre and Campsite situated at Fanwood, Ferrand Lane, Gomersal, with a resident Warden on site (For further info please see the pages on this site.).

The Activity Centre is situated on the route of The Spen Way Heritage Trail, a 21 mile circular route around the boundaries of the District.

Welcome to the new Spen Valley Scouts District website which has been built on a web portal solution.

This allows users to subscribe to different parts of the site as well as administrate details about themselves or their groups / sections.

We, the District, expect members to abide by the Scout Law when posting items/comments on this site.

In order to subscribe Users must initially identify themselves by name in order that the Site Administrators can identify them as being members of the local Association.  During registration Users can choose their own Username and Password. At first log on after registration you will be asked to complete a 'Biography' confirming your Identity.
